Easy to make homemade energy bars(GF)

Generally saying, all the energy bars and musli options out there are full of sugars and refine oils and if you are a bit into nutrition like me you will try to avoid those when you can. Though some new players are coming up in these days trying to improve the actual health of what is also referred to as health bars, I think the best way is simply to make it yourself! These bars are sugar free, oil free and gluten free.

**I used almonds cause they are richer in protein and low on fats in comparison to other nuts. You can change nut type to prefrence.







Let's get to work:


400 gram fine oats (For GF buy oats that specifically say GF otherwise most brands are cross contminated)

50 hemp seeds shredded

50 gram coconut flakes

50 gram sunflower seeds

150 gram almonds

60 gram goji berries

60 gram cranberries

1 tbsp cylon cinnamon or 1 tsp cassia cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt (optional)


250 ml orange juice

250 ml aquafaba (the liquid from cooking leguemes)

3 tbsp date mulassas (Silan)

50 gram chia seeds

50 gram flax seeds shredded

1 tbsp vanila extract


Directions:

  1. Start by mixing the liquids with the chia seeds and flax seeds in a food processor. After about 2-3 minutes you'll get an egg like texture.

  2. Mix all other ingredients in a big bowl.

  3. Heat oven to 170 degrees.

  4. Pour the egg like mixure to the big bowl and mix well to get an even mass. Let the mass sit for 5 minutes.

  5. Oil slightly an oven pan, I used a 24*34 centimeter pan.

  6. Bake for 45 minutes.

  7. Cool off for about one hour before cutting to bar size.
